Review of Diary of a Wimpy Kid on Mums and Stories

Mums and Stories this time reviews Diary of A Wimpy Kid.

This was part of three books we received from this interesting book store which houses pre loved books.

So last week, the child at home was excited to see the books, right after school. The first one he picked was the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Long Haul by Jeff Kinney.

Easy to read in conversational style, Diary of a Wimpy Kid has a series belonging to it and of course loyal readers.

Greg Heffley, the young boy shares on his exciting and non exciting life and apparently talks on his family and all the adventures and mishaps that happen in their lives. But he is a child who sees humour in situations and the story flow puts a smile on many occasions when going through the book.

This one’s on a road trip which is supposed to be fun but not when it comes to Heffley’s family. We received them for a review from Little Book worm, an online store that houses pre loved books, largely from UK publishers. These are gently lived books and are in excellent reading condition.
Published by Penguin, the book is hilarious in its tone and ideal for nine year olds to twelve.

An excerpt from the story: Greg sharing this as a thought. Mom wouldn’t let me and Rodrick(
brother) take any electronics on the trip, even though they barely take up any space.

She’s always saying, kids these days don’t know how to socialize because they have
constantly got their noses two inches from the screen.
But I’ll tell you this; when I have kids, I’ll let them play with whatever kind of gadget
they WANT. If you ask me, electronics are the key to family happiness.

Conversations like these sound familiar? It surely brought a smile while reading through it.
The books at Little Book Worms are segregated according to age category and are at a nominal
price.

Orders above Rs.500 qualify for free shipping in India. For more details visit Little Book Worms

Mums and Stories loved the illustrations, that run like a cartoon strip the story as it
goes through series of bloopers. They are perfect for a weekend read and we give it a five on five.
